Just 17.5 per cent of high street January sale TVs are at lowest available price

New research shows that 7 out of every 10 TVs sold by the UK’s top high street chains in the January sales are cheaper elsewhere. Price comparison experts Skinflint compared prices of TVs currently on sale at leading high street brands including Argos, Co-op, Currys, John Lewis, Sainsbury’s and Tesco. The figures showed that 72.5 per cent of the high street’s best January sales prices on TVs could be beaten by at least one of Skinflint’s 850 UK retailers, and often by several.

High street chains only offered the best price for TVs 17.5 per cent of the time , with shoppers paying up to 39.2 per cent more on the high street by failing to shop around. In one instance a 55” Smart TV in the sales with a £350 discount on the high street could be found a further £368 cheaper using the Skinflint price comparison app. On average, consumers can save a further £187.65 on high...
