Look Out, Here Comes the Fat Girl – A Fresh, Funny and Practical Guide to Getting Slim and Fitter Without Diet or Gym Misery

Prague, 12th March, 2026: Out today, a new book by author Jo Weaver, Look Out, Here Comes the Fat Girl, offers a refreshingly honest and humorous take on weight loss and fitness—without fad diets, guilt or gym obsession.

Weaver’s second book combines personal experience, practical advice, and a great deal of humour, whilst challenging the conventional wisdom surrounding dieting and fitness. Instead of promoting strict diets or punishing exercise regimes, the book focuses on changing everyday habits in simple, sustainable ways that lead to long-term results.

Weaver argues that while diets may work in the short term, they rarely deliver lasting change. Having spent much of her life on diets due to what she calls her “fat gene”, she has developed a philosophy based on the belief that people don’t abandon diets simply because they are hungry. Rather, long-term success comes from building healthier routines that fit naturally into everyday life.

Look Out, Here Comes the Fat Girl provides readers with a wealth of practical ideas and motivation, including:

· How to build healthier habits without strict dieting

· How to eat whatever you want whenever you want and still lose weight

· Ways to walk 10,000 steps a day without ever “going for a walk”

· Simple exercises that can be done at home using everyday household items

· Creative routines such as the “toilet squat” and other useful exercises

· Strategies to stay motivated and avoid falling back into old habits

The tone of the book is deliberately supportive rather than preachy, encouraging readers to become fitter, stronger, more supple and slimmer—often without setting foot inside a gym.

Drawing on her lifelong passion for sport as well as decades of personal experience with yo-yo dieting, Weaver brings both humour and realism to the subject of weight management. Talking about the book, she says:

‘My Editor, another Jo, was initially a little bit sceptical about the book, as she saw it as ‘just another diet’ book, which it absolutely isn’t. On that basis, she wanted me to

make sure that all of my claims were authenticated since I am neither a famous athlete, more’s the pity, nor a nutritionist. I said, however, that I believe that I have more expertise than any of the professionals, since I have the ‘fat gene’ – my father was huge – and I have spent my life as a fat baby, a fat child, an almost anorexic teenager, and now a ‘fat girl’ that is only living inside a slim body due to the lifelong battle that I have undergone until very recently. She eventually understood and, in the end, loved the book – to the point that she actually does most of the exercises herself!’

A Czech-language edition of Look Out, Here Comes the Fat Girl will be published in approximately two months. Weaver, who lives in Prague, says she has high hopes for the book in the Czech Republic, where obesity is an increasingly significant public health issue and people often have less access to nutritional and fitness advice and support than in the UK. The Czech edition will feature one of the country’s most famous actresses, Eva Holubová, as the public face of the book.
