The Harvey Practice makes the switch to a new digital workstyle

The Harvey Practice has recently appointed leading digital dictation provider Lexacom. They have already seen what a difference using Lexacom 3 has made to their day, foremost bringing a more efficient way of working for the team.

The Harvey Practice was recommended by other GP Practices in their area who already use Lexacom 3, to look into using the advanced digital dictation software as an alternative to their existing tape system.

Kirstie Cobb, Practice Secretary from The Harvey Practice explains: “We were using a tape system and the equipment was constantly failing. And workloads were growing due to the amount of time that was being spent on mending the equipment. I decided to see what the other local practices used to support their document creation work and Lexacom 3 was consistently recommended to us”.

The Harvey Practice signed up to Lexacom 3 as soon as they’d seen a demo of the software. “We knew there and then that the solution would be ideal for our Practice as it offered the option to share our work across different sites, which was a priority for us”.

The Dorset based practice uses SystmOne to retrieve their patient data. This clinical system
integrates with Lexacom 3 and has been a welcome service for the team. With three secretaries and eleven GPs needing to create patient referrals and create other documents on a daily basis, the team can be confident in the knowledge that using Lexacom 3 ensures that patient records, which are extracted from SystmOne, remain secure during the documents creation process.

“Lexacom 3 is an excellent product and we are very pleased that we made the decision to start using it. The software has a made a real difference to the way we work; we are now running a much more efficient practice. We are generating documents much more quickly, our work is lot more accurate and we have more time to focus on other work.

We see the potential for us to take the option of integrating other Lexacom products and services with the software over the coming months as and when we need it. The flexibility of this is really going to help when we need to ease any workload pressures that may occur.

We were recommended to use Lexacom and we will be recommending other GP Practices to do the same”.
