TRACKR LAUNCHES UPDATED FIND MY PHONE SKILL FOR AMAZON ALEXA
Integration of location services enables Alexa to provide customers with last-known address of their misplaced phone
TrackR is an Alexa Fund recipient—The Alexa Fund is named for the cloud-based voice service that powers Amazon Echo, and provides up to $100 million in investments to fuel voice technology innovation from developers, manufacturers and start-ups of all sizes.
Monday, January 23, 2017 – Santa Barbara, CA – Today, TrackR, a leader in personal item management innovations, announced an updated version of the Find My Phone skill for Amazon Alexa, the cloud-based voice service behind the Amazon Echo and Echo Dot, that gives people the comfort of always knowing the exact location of their phone. Once the skill has been enabled, customers can simply say, “Alexa, ask TrackR to find my phone,” and Alexa will provide the last known address of the phone – no matter where it is in the world. If the customer is already located in the same place as the phone, Alexa will ring it loudly – even if it is on silent mode – making it quick and easy to find a misplaced phone.
“We believe that an important component in the next phase of item tracking is voice recognition,” said Chris Herbert, CEO and co-founder of TrackR. “With this new Alexa skill, our customers have the peace of mind of knowing that with a simple request, Alexa will tell them exactly where they left their most frequently used piece of technology – their phone.”
The TrackR Amazon Alexa Find My Phone skill update became generally available today.
