Invenergy wind farm investment crucial for renewables growth, but talent shortages could be an issue

Chicago, IL: Leading global energy and rail recruiter, Samuel Knight International, has welcomed the investment in the Changing Winds scheme, but has urged Invenergy to prioritize talent attraction to ensure the project can be completed.

Following news that Chicago-based Invenergy has purchased the 231-MW wind project in the Texas Panhandle, the specialist in energy hiring claims that while developments such as this are crucial to America’s continued renewable growth, the on-going shortage of specialist talent could limit the success of these projects.

Steve Rawlingson, Group CEO of SKI Corp, commented:

“The renewables space in the US is certainly a lucrative field to operate in. There’s a wealth of exciting developments in the pipeline and Invenergy’s investment in the Changing Winds projects are something we hope to see more of in the future. However, we know first-hand that the global energy skills shortage is beginning to impact organizations. What we need is to use projects like this to show potential talent just why renewables is a great place to work.”
