Marlow, 14th May 2018 – NetDespatch, the leading parcel data management platform, has pledged to sponsor £14,000 to Marlow Rowing Club, for the elite junior boys’ and girls’ clubs. The two-year sponsorship deal sees NetDespatch commit to £7,000 as a lump sum payment, and it has also made an additional £7,000 commitment in matched funding, which will serve as a much needed boost to the junior teams’ hopes of continued success.

Founded in 1871, Marlow Rowing Club has a long and distinguished history, with a host of well-known members including legendary Olympian Sir Steve Redgrave, who won gold medals at five consecutive Olympic Games, and Dame Katherine Grainger, Britain’s most decorated female Olympian with five Olympic medals.

The club, which hit the media headlines when it was badly damaged by a fire in 2011, has junior teams which are run on incredibly tight budgets and are almost totally dependent on sponsorship, which means that NetDespatch’s contribution will be well received.

“We’re absolutely delighted that NetDespatch has been generous enough to sponsor our junior boys and girls. Without donations like this, the club simply wouldn’t exist and the next Sir Steve Redgrave or Dame Katherine Grainger could be denied their opportunity to embark on a fantastic career,” said John Yeatman, Chairman at Marlow Rowing Club. “The sponsorship money has been put to good use already, enabling us to purchase a brand new four man boat to be used by our blue riband squads at landmark events like this summer’s Henley Royal Regatta.”
