Alongside the RHS Celebrity Theatre, Everest will again be creating three themed garden displays, each designed by David Domoney around a charity

TV presenter Julia Bradbury will be joining the Celebrity Theatre line-up this year at the RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show, it has been announced. This will be the first time that the popular BBC Countryfile presenter has appeared at the event, which takes place from Tuesday 3 to Sunday 8 July and is the largest annual flower show in the world.

Julia will be accompanied by a host of other well-known TV personalities in the RHS Celebrity Theatre, including Bill Oddie, Carol Klein, David Domoney, Pippa Greenwood and Joe Swift.

Set in a special marquee, the RHS Celebrity Theatre is supported by Everest Home Improvements and boasts a full schedule of talent throughout the show. Visitors can hear from a range of celebrities daily, each talking about their passion for gardening, wildlife and nature, as well as providing tips and expert advice.

Commenting on her involvement, Julia Bradbury said, “This will be my first time speaking at RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show, and I’m really looking forward to it. The Show has a fantastic reputation for being fun, friendly and full of incredible horticultural displays, so I’m thrilled to be a part of it.

“I look forward to sharing all the behind-the-scenes secrets from my programmes and other wild and wonderful stories. I will also be talking about the incredibly diverse and beautiful landscapes we have on our doorstep, and about my walking series and how it shows there is an appetite and appreciation for the great outdoors.”

Gardening television presenter David Domoney, who has been involved in the show for many years, comments, “RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show is the horticultural highlight of my year. There’s so much to see at this huge show as it sprawls 34 acres across the beautiful palace grounds. There are incredible show gardens, trade stands full of wonderful creations, stunning floral exhibits, and, of course, a multitude of marvellous plants to buy.

“I will be speaking at the RHS Celebrity Theatre, sharing my passion for the garden and the wildlife that resides within it. From insects to amphibians, mammals to micro-organisms, our gardens are teaming with life. I will be taking my audiences on a journey of discovery to find out more about the secret life of our gardens and their amazing inhabitants.”

Alongside the RHS Celebrity Theatre, Everest will again be creating three themed garden displays, each designed by David Domoney around a charity that has been nominated by one of the celebrities. This year Julia Bradbury has nominated Mend Our Mountains, Carol Klein has selected Mesothelioma UK and Bill Oddie has chosen the Woodland Trust. Visitors will be given an opportunity to vote for their favourite garden display, with each charity receiving a donation from Everest following the show based on the number of votes they collect.

Peter Mottershead, Chief Executive at Everest, said, “We are very proud to once again be associated with this prestigious gardening event and to have the opportunity to support three very exciting and deserving charities”.

About the RHS:

The Royal Horticultural Society was founded in 1804 by Sir Joseph Banks and John Wedgwood to inspire passion and excellence in the science, art and practice of horticulture. Our vision is to enrich everyone’s life through plants, and make the UK a greener and more beautiful place. We believe everyone in every village, town and city should benefit from growing plants to enhance lives, build stronger, healthier, happier communities and create better places to live.

We held our first flower shows in 1820, were granted a Royal Charter in 1861 and acquired RHS Garden Wisley, our flagship garden, in 1903. From our first meetings in a small room off London’s Piccadilly, we have grown to become the world’s largest gardening charity. At our gardens and shows and through our scientific research, publications, libraries and our education and community programmes we inspire a passion for gardening and growing plants, promote the value of gardens, demonstrate how gardening is good for us and explain the vital roles that plants undertake.

The RHS is committed to bring the joy of gardening to millions more people, inspire the next generation of gardeners and invest in the future to safeguard a £15 billion industry employing more than 300,000 people. We are entirely funded by our members, visitors and supporters. RHS membership is for anyone with an interest in gardening. Support the RHS and help us secure a healthy future for gardening.
