Specialist food producers across Oxfordshire, Berkshire and Hampshire are facing intense competition in the biggest field of entries yet to secure top honours.

Sausages are a big, and growing, business and last year in the UK we ate 182,848 tonnes of bangers worth £560m and the top quality ‘premium’ sausage sector increased by almost 10% . Also on an upward trajectory, the annual Sausage and Pie competition, hosted by the Swan at Streatley is, for the first time, a three championship event with entries from Berkshire, Oxfordshire and the latest addition, Hampshire.

To be judged by industry professionals the event will take place on Wednesday 18 November at the Swan at Streatley Hotel.
