The legendary singer, Mica Paris has become Patron of the charity KIN (Kibera in Need) which was set up in 2007 to make life better for families in the vast Kibera slum in Nairobi, Kenya. Mica Paris is one of the UK’s finest and most respected female singers with a career full of Top 10 hit singles and albums worldwide. She is currently recording a long-awaited new album of original material featuring renowned guest singers and musicians to be released later in 2011. Most recently Mica has been honored as an "Icon" at Windsor Castle by the Duke of Edinburgh and will return later this year to perform for his 90th birthday celebrations.

The desperate conditions in the vast Kibera slum were highlighted in the UK earlier this year in a Comic Relief documentary.
