Introducing the Excel PON Solution

The Excel PON Solution

We're delighted to launch our Passive Optical Network Solution, a great quality and innovative solution to efficiently deliver FTTx solutions

21st January 2019, Excel Networking Solutions, the infrastructure provider that offers Copper and Optical Fibre, Pre-Terminated Solutions, Racks, PDUs and a comprehensive suite of accessories, is excited to announce that they are now offering a broad range of high-quality, high-performance Passive Optical Network (PON) Solutions suitable for both the residential and enterprise environments.

Neil Payne, Excel Product Manager, commented, "We're delighted to launch our Passive Optical Network Solution, a great quality and innovative solution to efficiently deliver FTTx solutions, complemented by our existing range of copper, fibre and racking solutions.”

In addition to Excel’s extensive portfolio, the new selection of passive optical components offers a complete end-to-end solution in passive optical infrastructure. Excel’s range of Splitters, Panels and Modules allow for flexibility in the use of rack space and provide the opportunity to expand the network in the future. Their portfolio of Outlets and Adaptors have been designed to accommodate the delivery of FTTx solutions, with options to deliver fibre optical services directly to the desk or the home. Complete with a selection of Floor Distribution Boxes and Exterior Splice Enclosures that are scalable to suit a wide range of applications, as well as an additional four Environ Enclosures that have been specifically designed with a confined space in mind, the Excel PON Solution is designed for a multitude of installation environments which demand the delivery of high speed fibre optical connectivity.

Payne continued, “Our range of Environ Enclosures have been designed specifically for a PON infrastructure solution. Offering consolidated points of connection that will fit into utility spaces and cable routes, removing the need for additional space to be allocated throughout the building infrastructure, such as Secondary Equipment Rooms (SERs). This allows for a more cost-effective use of space, helping to create considerable CapEx savings for our customers and end users.”

In addition to providing cost- and space-saving benefits, the Excel PON Solution offers users a host of additional advantages, including increased energy efficiency due to the reduced cooling and power requirements in the mid-span of the network, as well as easier network management and increased system security.

From the equipment room to the work area, the Excel PON Solution offers high reliability and low cost of ownership. With fewer physical components than a traditional LAN topology providing higher bandwidth over long distances, the result is an efficient network that can benefit any application.

Payne concluded, “As with the existing portfolio of Excel products, our Passive Optical Network Solution is covered by the Excel 25-Year Warranty when installed by an accredited Excel Partner, providing customers and end users with further peace of mind.”

The Excel Partner Briefings are taking place across the country (Birmingham, London, Manchester and Glasgow) in February and March 2019. Throughout the event, the Excel team will be discussing various subjects surrounding Passive Optical Networks, and there will be an opportunity to see the whole range at the mini exhibitions. Places at each event are limited, so make sure to reserve your place online at www.excel-networking.com/events.
