Like all Apricorn secure drives, these new models are completely software-free, Aegis Configurator compatible, and cross-platform compatible including Windows, Linux, Mac, Android, and Chrome.

Apricorn’s software-free approach ensures that 100 percent of the data is hardware-encrypted, and 100 percent of the authentication process is executed within the device’s embedded encryption system by way of its onboard keypad.

No critical security parameters such as PINs or encryption keys are shared with the host. Additionally, software-free / self-contained authentication and encryption make the Aegis line of secure drives compatible with virtually any operating system as well as unique applications such as embedded systems and instrumentation without a keyboard.

Rugged, compact and SSD fast, the Aegis Padlock SSD USB 3.0 Solid State Drive’s encryption module is FIPS 140-2 level 2 validated, IP56 certified resistant against water and dust, equipped with a crush-resistant aluminum enclosure, built-in USB 3.0 cable, and five storage capacities ranging from 120GB up to 2TB.
