Rubik’s Latest Toy Set to Light Up the Holiday Season
Digital games have been one of the biggest developments of the decade. People may be surprised to find, therefore, that analogue toys and traditional table top games are experiencing a global resurgence. Against this backdrop the creators of the legendary Rubik’s Cube have introduced their latest toy which is set to be a real hit this holiday season. The Rubik’s Spark is an entirely new electronic game developed to challenge the minds of all ages.
The exciting new game from Rubik’s keeps the recognisable cube styling of the 1980s icon but is larger in size. The futuristic toy features five games each with 26 levels of varying difficulty and brings an entirely new challenge to the table.
Fans of the notoriously difficult Rubik’s Cube will be pleased to know that the games will keep your fingers busy through the cube’s sensor technology. The unique bubble control system reacts to movements of the user and lights the cube accordingly.
Much like the original, the Rubik’s Spark makes the user think three-dimensionally and challenges them in a different way every time. It includes new games such as Snackin’ Snake, Tilt & Zap and Seek & Destroy. The most notable difference is that these games aren’t limited to single-player use only. Everyone can enjoy the Rubik’s Spark as it offers a multiplayer function. Families and friends will be able to take turns in solving the exciting challenges as fast and accurately as possible.
The Rubik’s Spark is designed to challenge a user’s memory, speed, dexterity and logic. As the cube has no memory, players are then challenged to complete the games as quickly as possible. There are no buttons and no touch screen. If you stop moving for too long or put the cube down it will go to sleep and you will have to start again.
The Rubik’s Spark also has a DJ mode. This allows the user to let their inner DJ take over and make their own music. By turning and twisting the cube it will make different sounds and produce a musical beat.
Chrisi Trussell of Rubik’s Brand Ltd explains, “In our homes, there seems to be a gradual shift taking place as families and groups of friends look to spend less time sitting in front of screens and spend more time playing analogue games together in a social context.
“The Rubik’s Spark fits this trend perfectly, while retaining an electronic, modern and fun feel which appeals to the kid in everyone. It is a true descendant of the Rubik’s Cube in that it encourages us to spend time together – it’s fun, social and devilishly hard. Exciting and frustrating in equal measure, it’s a great party game.”
For over 40 years, children and adults alike have puzzled over the Rubik’s Cube and the Rubik’s Spark is set to challenge the brains of a new generation.
