Sparta Global signs MoD pledge to support and accelerate ex-forces transition into IT
we understand how ex-forces personnel have an abundance of transferable skills that would prove invaluable to the IT industry
1st August, 2019 - LONDON: Sparta Global, a leading provider of technology and business consulting services, has signed the Ministry of Defence’s Armed Forces Corporate Covenant to introduce digital skills training to the ex-Armed Forces community.
The Armed Forces Corporate Covenant enables businesses and charities to voluntarily pledge and outline publicly how they are willing to commit to the Armed Forces community.
Those who serve in the Armed Forces - whether Regular or Reserve - those who have served in the past, and their families, should face no disadvantage compared to other citizens in the provision of public and commercial services.
By signing, Sparta Global pledges to provide ex-forces personnel with IT training in several business and technical disciplines. The training is then followed by commercial experience with Sparta Global clients for at least two years.
Sparta Global’s CEO David Rai says; “We are honoured to be showing our support and recognising the contributions made by those who serve in the British Armed Forces by signing the Covenant.
Since founding Sparta Global in 2014, we have worked with individuals from a range of education and career backgrounds, and we understand how ex-forces personnel have an abundance of transferable skills that would prove invaluable to the IT industry.”
Sparta Global will also uphold the principles of the Armed Forces Covenant by:
• promoting the fact it is an armed forces-
friendly organisation
• actively seeking to support the employment of
veterans young and old in the technology
industry
• supporting employees who choose to be members
of the Reserve forces by accommodating their
training and deployment where possible
David adds; “Serving personnel, reservists, veterans and military families deserve respect, support and fair treatment.
As a forces-friendly employer, we look forward to benefiting from the wide range of unique skills and experiences that reservists and veterans can bring to our organisation, helping to diversify our talent offering and promote understanding and awareness of Armed Forces potential in our industry.”
Military veteran, and Sparta Global Talent Manager, Katy Brookes, continues; “Adapting to civilian life can be challenging for former Armed Forces personnel. The support of businesses and charities is invaluable during this time of transition – where career and training opportunities should be plentiful and not restricted.
I look forward to driving Sparta Global’s military recruitment and seeing our Armed Forces Spartans thrive as part of the UK’s fast-paced and exciting technology industry.”
