Ft. Craig Charles DJ Set &
The Haggis Horns (Live), Family Ranks (Live), The People’s Balearic Disco, Bite The Apple, Sir Funk
***PRESS RELEASE***
Selling out in under 36 hours last time he performed at Camp & Furnace, Craig Charles returns to his hometown for another blowout performance on Saturday, 10th September.
Armed with a lion’s share of Funk & Soul cuts, Charles’ fans can expect a journey through the hey-days of both genres - vintage along with contemporary twist and shouts. As one of Liverpool’s best-known exports, Charles’ BBC Radio 6 Funk & Soul Show has become a firm staple in the nations entertainment diet since 2002.
Rarely does a DJ’s wide-eyed enthusiasm for the music he plays translate as well as Craig Charles’. With a telepathic ability to select stomping anthems from start to finish, he brings a fully immersive clubbing experience to the dance floor.
The Haggis Horns need no introduction to the mix of this evening’s antics. Dubbed by Mark Ronson as ‘the best horn section in the world’, members have waved their special brand of brass magic over an array of artists work – from Amy Winehouse to Jamiroquai, to The Roots and John Legend.
The live line up also sees Family Ranks take to the stage, a classy Northern 7-piece band whose fresh, unique take on Funk, Soul and Hip Hop has earned them the support from the BBC 1 Extra Dj Family.
People’s Balearic Disco are set to cover everything from old school disco, modern house, 70s funk and 80s electro. Bite The Apple and Sir Funk will be on hand to keep get the party swinging, the good vibes pumping, upholding their commitment to unleashing a sack load of tutti-frutti on the good people of Liverpool this evening!
We know clubs always say tickets are selling fast, but do your good selves a favour and trust us when we tell you that for this event – they really are!
