London and Cheshire based cloud specialists igroup have been approved as an official supplier of cloud services as part of the G Cloud 8 Government Digital Marketplace initiative. The approval means that igroup can now manage the supply of public and private cloud services to local and national government agencies.
The Digital Marketplace was launched by the UK government in 2012 as an initiative to simplify the procurement of IT services by public sector bodies by providing a list of pre-approved suppliers. G Cloud is intended to deliver improved public sector efficiency and reduce government IT costs by migrating 50% of spending to the cloud.
“We’re delighted to have been recognised by the UK government for the quality and value of cloud services that we offer to our clients, and for the opportunity to extend those services to the public sector.” said igroup ltd managing director, Steve Rastall.
