The Clear Company shortlisted for 2017 Women in Finance Award
financial services is undoubtedly an area which is taking positive and tangible action to address levels of female representation at the top
HR and diversity consultancy, the Clear Company has been shortlisted for the Disruptor of the Year accolade at this year’s Women in Finance Awards.
This category celebrates the companies that have reinvigorated gender diversity in the financial services industry by breaking barriers, exploring new markets, creating innovative new products or services, or have established a new effective way of working.
The Clear Company works with clients, including large multi-nationals in the financial services sector, to help them become more inclusive to diverse talent.
Earlier this year, the Clear Company announced the successes of its custom built recruitment selection workshop which hiring managers operating within the Lloyd’s of London marketplace are required to take part in. To date, 150 individuals have been accredited on this course and female talent pipelines have subsequently strengthened.
Commenting on the announcement, Kate Headley, Director at the Clear Company, said;
“I’m honoured that the work of the Clear Company has been recognised and celebrated by Women in Finance. While we consult across a myriad of professional sectors, financial services is undoubtedly an area which is taking positive and tangible action to address levels of female representation at the top.
“In order to recruit – and retain – sufficient female talent in a historically patriarchal sector there must be a recognition that established practices, processes and culture have to change dramatically. I’m incredibly proud that we have helped the clients that we work with in this space to achieve greater gender diversity by reviewing existing recruitment and HR strategies and advising on more innovative and inclusive alternatives.”

Notes to editors:
Of all the industries in which women are poorly represented at a senior level, finance and financial services have the biggest challenge to address.
Despite making up more than half the finance workforce, women continue to dramatically lag behind their male counterparts in leadership roles.
The Women in Finance Awards is the finance industry’s largest diversity initiative, recognising the high-achievers, advocates, and role models for women in the sector.
Organised by GrowthBusiness.co.uk and What Investment magazine, the awards aspire to see gender balance at all levels in the world of finance. This isn’t just a matter of corporate responsibility; it’s a matter of national urgency.
Winners will be announced at a ceremony on the 29th of June 2017 at Grosvenor House, Park Lane.
