The aims of the Association are to:
• Enable cooperation among its member doctoral programs, including thousands of students and faculty, from all disciplines in management and business studies.
• Enhance the quality of its doctoral programs within a global perspective.
EDAMBA is managed by the EIASM (European Institute for Advanced Studies in Management) - the European ‘Network of Networks’ for researchers and doctoral students in management.
Professor Assimakopoulos says,
“Naturally I am delighted to have been re-elected as President of EDAMBA at this exciting time in the organisation’s history. For over 25 years, EDAMBA has been the meeting place of Directors of doctoral programmes promoting the ideas of quality, diversity, collaboration and networking, building a community throughout European management education and beyond.
We recently founded a new Latin American chapter with new members from Peru, Mexico, Colombia and Chile, have members in Asia and Africa, and can now boast member programmes from 30 nations internationally with some of the finest management schools in the world collaborating within a European perspective. At a time when many parts of the world appear to be turning inwards, it is gratifying to see EDAMBA pushing an agenda of international and global collaboration through high quality research and teaching in doctoral education.”
EDAMBA offers summer and winter academies for doctoral students and academic supervisors of doctoral theses from institutions including the likes of London Business School, Erasmus University, ESADE Business School, EGADE Business School in Mexico, the University of Stellenbosch in South Africa, Tongji University in China, and Stockholm School of Economics, amongst others – as well as a Doctoral thesis competition which aims to highlight high-quality doctoral dissertations which have significantly contributed to new knowledge in the areas of business studies and management.
