Furnish Your Home set to raise money for Movember

Furnish Your Home is set to show their support for Movember this month.

Furnish Your Home, a B2C home furnishings company based in West Bromwich, have seen huge success since their launch earlier this year, with their ranges of chairs, tables, dining sets and bar stools.

The company are now set to give back to a cause close to their hearts by donating 5 GBP from each sale to the Movember Foundation during the ‘Movember’ event that sees thousands take part each November.

Furnish Your Home will then proceed to match the overall amount at the end of the month, with hope that the company can donate as much as possible to the cause.

Starting today, the company are excited to raise money for the Movember Foundation in a bid to raise awareness of the charity and just how many people it helps every year.

The Movember Foundation is the only charity tackling men’s health on a global scale each year. The charity aims to raise awareness of men’s health, from mental health to cancer. On average, men die four years younger than women in the UK.

On average, 13 men take their life each day alone in the UK, with 78% of suicides in the UK being men. A staggering one in four people in the UK experience mental health problems each year. Testicular Cancer is also the most common cancer in men aged 25-49.

The Movember Foundation raises funds to deliver innovative, breakthrough research and support programmes that enable men to live happier, healthier and longer lives.

The charity are also keen to raise funds for Prostate Cancer. More than 10,500 men with prostate cancer will die in the UK. In the UK alone, one in eight men will get prostate cancer at some point in their lives.

Prostate cancer mainly affects men over 50, men with a history of prostate cancer and black men, who are particularly at risk, with about one in four men getting prostate cancer at some point in their lives.

Prostate Cancer is particularly close to Furnish Your Home’s marketing manager Matthew McLiddy. He said: “My father in law and my best friend died of prostate cancer and it had a profound effect on me. This is a life-threatening issue for men; it happens every day.

“The more you know about prostate cancer the better chances you have of dealing with it. The money raised throughout Movember will help with continuous research and helping others fight this awful disease.”

As well as the money raised from sales, staff members will also be raising money for Movember outside of work, adding any money they raise as individuals to the overall amount at the end of the month.

The company are hoping that people will get involved with their cause and fundraising. Furnish Your Home will also be tracking their fundraising on their social media channels.
