APSCo launches Breakfast Club for start-ups and SMEs to tackle and accelerate business growth

The Association of Professional Staffing Companies (APSCo), in conjunction with Tempting Ventures has launched a new Recruitment Director’s Breakfast Club accelerator programme for SME business leaders. This is in response to the growing number of small and micro businesses joining the trade body which are seeking to achieve rapid growth and profitability.

The five-module programme, led by industry experts, will take place from September 2018 to March 2019, with all five events designed to tackle issues that early stage recruitment businesses face. Based on the experience of the APSCo and Tempting Venture’s teams and their current data, the programme will include a series of interactive and 1-2-1 workshops on; How to attract A* talent into a start-up, creating rules for life so your business always wins, creating a cash flow forecast and P&L, the importance of deep specialism and getting the right processes and technology in place to grow your business.

The Tempting Ventures team and their bench of experts have set up over 20 recruitment businesses, all of which are thriving today. The programme speakers, including John Hunter, CEO at Argyll Scott, Amy Golding CEO at Opus Solutions and Ian Temple CEO, Hydrogen PLC will share their knowledge and experience at the workshops along with other leading recruitment and business experts.

Commenting on the launch, APSCo CEO Ann Swain says:

“The focus of the programme is to address the hurdles that many recruitment businesses face in their early stages. Working in partnership with Tempting Ventures, we want to equip leaders today with practical solutions to grow their organisation in the right way and practice good habits from the start to ensure their business can flourish at it’s most vital stage of development.”

“The five breakfast events will give attendees the opportunity to take part in round table discussions with peers and seek guidance from the specialists on how to identify areas of change and ways to define tangible actions for results. While it is notoriously hard to scale recruitment businesses, we constantly strive towards encouraging and motivating professionals to progress and there is still huge opportunity that many are missing out on. The event will provide leaders with the tools and guidance they need at the start of their journey and through support and shared expertise they will leave with valuable knowledge around the best way to grow at pace and truly succeed.”
