Boston, a leading provider of high performance, mission-critical server and storage solutions, has been named "Hyper-Convergence Vendor of the Year"
London, UK – 18th June, 2018 - Boston, a leading provider of high performance, mission-critical server and storage solutions, has been named "Hyper-Convergence Vendor of the Year" at the 15th annual Storage Awards (Storries).
The Storage Awards, held this year at the Tower Hotel, London nestled into the north bank of the River Thames next to Tower Bridge, welcomed in excess of 200 IT professionals from across the industry to celebrate innovation and excellence across the storage industry. These highly regarded awards, that are voted for by readers of Storage Magazine and industry professionals, deliver a collective seal of approval to the organisations who take away the much-coveted trophies at the end of the night.
Achieving Hyper-Convergence Vendor of the Year is particularly apt since it is almost a year since the Boston Flash-IO Talyn solution was launched which utilises flash and networking technologies and connects them in a hyper-converged configuration using an enhanced version of the NVMe-OF protocol, Excelero NVMesh®. With the combined solution every node is able to behave as an application server and as a storage target, ensuring its local flash storage is accessible to the other nodes in the cluster.
Boston's Flash-IO Talyn family, were also nominated in the "Product of the Year" and "Flash/SSD Storage Product of the Year" categories alongside our nominations for "Contribution to the Storage Industry" to Manoj Nayee, Managing Director of Boston and our Marketing Team for "Storage Marketing Team of the Year."
Joining Boston last night to celebrate was Steve Wood from Micron®, and along with Supermicro®, Mellanox® and of course Excelero, Boston would not have been able to achieve this accolade.
Manoj Nayee said; "Boston is thrilled to once again be a winner at the Storage Awards, and to be recognised for an area that we are so focused on with our partners means that this is an accolade that we can share in. This award is a timely one, as we have this week launched a "Utility" solution as part of the Flash-IO Talyn family. I invite anyone interested in this award-winning solution to contact us for an introduction and live testing in our BostonLabs facility."
"What's ground-breaking about the Flash-IO Talyn, and rightly deserving of an award, is that it enables any organization to deploy high-performance NVMe at scale with minimal configuration efforts, in what is essentially a plug and play solution, made possible in large part by Excelero's NVMesh software," said Lior Gal, CEO and co-founder of Excelero. "[The Flash-IO] Talyn perfectly integrates NVMesh with standard servers, storage and networking components, exactly how it was envisioned - and enables organizations to achieve unrivalled scalability, agility and cost-efficiency that can deliver a competitive edge."
