Altran is pleased to announce the awarding of a framework agreement by Dounreay Site Restoration Ltd (DSRL) for decommissioning safety case production and related services.

The global leader in engineering and R&D services plays a pivotal role in the assurance of software and systems across industry sectors, including the provision of expertise to a number of operational and decommissioning nuclear sites in the UK.

Following a long-standing relationship supplying safety management services into DSRL, this four-year contract will broaden Altran’s remit to comprise safety case production and supporting activities such as human factors, fire assessments, shielding and criticality and engineering substantiation.

The framework will be managed by systems and safety experts based at Altran’s Glasgow and Manchester offices, with the support of high-integrity software specialists based in Bath and an extended network of over 2200 energy engineers worldwide.

Mike Simms, Chief Executive Officer at Altran UK, commented: “We have achieved exceptional standards of risk management and compliance in safety-critical contexts for over thirty years, from ensuring the safety of passengers on some of the world’s busiest railway lines to enabling air traffic controllers to forecast the trajectory of aircraft ahead of time. I have no doubt that our skilled and experienced teams can add significant value to Dounreay and congratulate them on this latest achievement.”
