The Range Rides West for Grassroots Football Sponsorship

We’re a business with strong local roots, serving the local community, so it makes sense for us to put something extra back into that community.

Heating services specialist, Range Heating, has announced a three-year sponsorship for grassroots football club, West Didsbury & Chorlton.

West, as the club is known locally, is, for Range Heating, the right match, as the business’s owner Jeff Glaister explains.

“We’re a business with strong local roots, serving the local community, so it makes sense for us to put something extra back into that community. Sponsoring West is the perfect opportunity to do this.”


January 2019

Range Heating announces its sponsorship of West Didsbury & Chorlton AFC.

Originally established in 2008, Range Heating specialises in installing boilers. The company serves South Manchester and Cheshire primarily, and has its headquarters in Stretford.

“We serve properties of all sizes, but we do specialise in large properties. It’s an area of work we’ve developed a considerable expertise in, and it’s something we love doing.”

Going from strength to strength, Range Heating recently won a people’s vote for their favourite boiler installer, as part of SpiroVent’s 50th Anniversary.

“While it’s important for us to continuously improve and refine our services, and develop the Range Heating brand, we’re also keen to stay true to our roots, and to keep our feet on the ground when it comes to the local community.”

It made sense, therefore, when the opportunity arose, to sponsor West Didsbury & Chorlton AFC.


Local Heroes

As a football club, West’s origins go back to 1908, and its original incarnation as Christchurch AFC.

Since that time, it has been an active and prominent part of the local community, going through various name changes, and surviving the upheaval of two World Wars and numerous challenges both on and off the pitch.

“West represents firm local resilience combined with a certain self-aware sense of humour, and the club has recently won various honours in the North West Counties Football League, including the NWCFL Ist Division trophy in 2013.”

The club’s vision is one of inclusiveness, which means championing football for men, women and juniors.

“It’s one of the oldest amateur clubs in Manchester, but it looks to the future, rather than just relying on its past. That’s something Range Heating can definitely identify with, because we’re always looking to better ourselves, and offer more to our customers.”
