APSCo’s second annual ‘defining the future’ event is hailed as ‘game-changing’

Following the success of last year’s launch, APSCo recently held its second annual Defining the Future event for recruitment business leaders. The three day residential programme which was designed in association with Deloitte, was described by delegates as both ‘game-changing’ and ‘inspiring’.

Held at Ettington Park in Oxfordshire, the event enabled senior recruitment professionals to attend a series of interactive workshops held by industry experts, each of which focused on a specific area of future growth in the sector. The workshops which included; Creating Shareholder Value; Driving Board Performance; Building High Performance Teams; Maximising International Growth; Successful M&As; Differentiating the Brand; Finessing your Finances and Authentic Leadership, were all facilitated by an industry expert. The recruitment profession was represented by specialist practitioners John Rose, Miles Hunt, Rob Gee and Graeme Read, while experts from Deloitte included, Katie Folwell Davies, Sohail Ahmad, Melissa Scully, Danielle Sweeney and Dennis Horner.

Feedback from the event was exceptionally positive for a second year running. “The Defining the Future event has provided the stimulus required to go back to my business and implement positive change” said Sandie Gale, Chief Financial Officer, Outsource UK Limited. Liz Prince, Business Manager, Amiqus echoed the capacity for change outlined in Sandie’s comments saying “Defining the Future provided me with some very new information which will be game-changing for our business – a genuine opportunity to implement best practice to drive growth”. Similarly Rob Slaney, Group Financial Controller at CBS Butler indicated that the event “gave a fantastic insight into the challenges faced across the industry and how these are managed.” One delegate even went as far as to say “I’ve learned more in the last three days than in the previous five years.”

Ann Swain, CEO of APSCo, commented on the achievement saying, “Defining the Future 2016 managed to build on the success of the first event which was no mean achievement.
