APSCo Global launches in Australia
The Association of Professional Staffing companies (APSCo) has today announced the launch of APSCo Australia following a merger with the Information Technology Contract & Recruitment Association (ITCRA). The launch of APSCo New Zealand will follow early next year.
Launched in 1999, ITCRA represents the interests of recruiters working in the IT contractor market across Australia and New Zealand. The move further extends APSCo’s international footprint and reinforces its position as the world’s first and only truly global recruitment trade body.
The announcement was made at ITCRA’s Annual Gala Dinner in Melbourne on Thursday 20th October 2016.
Commenting on the new partnership, Richard Fischer, President of ICTRA said;
“Members have voted unanimously to support this merger with APSCo Global and become part of an organisation that spans the United Kingdom, Singapore, Hong Kong and Germany. The opportunities will continue to unfold over time but rest assured the day to day business of representing the needs of professional staffing companies across our target verticals: IT & Telecommunications, Engineering, Banking, Finance & Insurance, Graduate Recruitment and Accounting; will continue but with a greater depth of resources and an expanded Membership base.”
Ann Swain, Chief Executive of APSCo, added;
“After successfully expanding into Asia in 2013, and Germany in 2015, this move will further strengthen the voice of the global professional recruitment sector. Like APSCo members, ITCRA members are increasingly operating on a global scale, and this partnership will allow us to assist consultancies in internationalising the reach of their clients and candidates.”
“There are huge cultural similarities between ITCRA and APSCo. We may be on the other side of the globe to each other, but our stories are uncannily similar. Like APSCo, ITCRA is serious about standards. It prides itself on recognising, supporting and promoting excellence in the ICT contracting and recruitment market and affiliation with the organisation it is recognised by clients, candidates and regulators as a ‘badge of quality’.”
“None of this will change when ITCRA rebrands as APSCo Australia and APSCo New Zealand. Its CEO, Julie Mills, will continue in the same role to provide the fantastic service that ITCRA members are accustomed to receiving. However, under the APSCo Global umbrella, consultancies will also be able to take advantage of additional benefits such as training and development, enhanced members meetings and greater online resources.”
“Crucially, with APSCo’s experience and guidance, APSCo Australia and APSCo New Zealand will also increase the breadth of consultancies it currently supports. I look forward to working with Richard, Julie and the rest of the team and meeting APSCo Australia and APSCo New Zealand members when I visit Australia early next year.”
