Leading change management and business transformation consultancy, Venquis has increased its international presence by opening an office in Rotterdam.

The move further supports Venquis’ presence in the European markets and allows the firm to build stronger international communities of vetted candidates in the locations where there is significant demand. Organisations all over Europe are facing significant challenges and opportunities from technology, regulation, robotics and of course political risk to name a few. The quality and availability of Venquis candidates helps organisations meet these changes effectively.

Jack Grimes, Technology Recruitment Manager and head of Venquis’ operations in Rotterdam, comments:

“The move into Rotterdam is an exciting one and we’ve already been inundated with new business since opening in November. It’s hardly surprising, the city is a major tech hub and with technology being the spearhead of almost all future change, our new location puts us at the heart of numerous major European business transformation programmes. It’s a fantastic time to have launched operations in the city, not only are some of the major household names based here, along with myriad tech start-ups, but it also provides a unique, up-and-coming environment which puts a real focus on sustainability and creating a low-carbon economy. So far, we’ve been encouraged by how keen firms have been to adopt the full range of advisory, consulting and market analysis services that we have to offer.”

Venquis CEO, Barnaby Parker, also comments:

“We’ve planned to launch operations in Rotterdam for some time and with the wider adoption of technology driven change programmes, not to mention everything that happened in 2016, we felt it was the perfect time. Rotterdam suits Venquis culturally as many firms here model their employer brand on the likes of Google and Facebook, meaning there’s a prevalent innovative and ‘techy’ culture which attracts some of the best in the market. Jack’s team has already seen a huge amount of new business come through the door in its first few months and we’re looking to bolster our own ranks to meet the demand. Rotterdam provides a hugely talented and multi-skilled employment base from us to recruit from, so it’s highly likely that our workforce is set to expand even more over the next few months.”

As a major employment and global business hub, the city is also home to one of the world’s leading business schools.

Dr Henk Volberda, Professor of Strategic Management and Business Policy at RSM Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University also comments:
“As well as being a strong, fast growing economy, Rotterdam is engaged in the process of changing from an ‘old economy’ which relied on manual labour around oil refineries and fossil fuels to one that is moving swiftly towards a ‘new economy’ built around ICT, green energy and a strong services sector. As a result there are now many businesses in the city that are on a transformation journey and engaging in business model innovation. Add to that an educated workforce and an excellent business infrastructure and it is clear to see why Rotterdam is an ideal location for a business like Venquis.”
