The top professionals in demand across the North West
New market analysis has revealed the top roles in demand across the North West employment arena including Accountants and Welders. That’s according to Preston based firm, Clayton Recruitment.
The latest analysis of the employment landscape in the North West is based on a comparison of vacancy levels across Clayton’s broad areas of expertise and highlights the ongoing skills requirements of employers in the region.

Welders: “Demand for MIG and TIG Welders in a range of sectors has been rising over the past few months. From machine shops looking for candidates with alloy welding experience through to sheet metal manufacturing companies seeking MIG Welders on a temporary basis, demand is showing no sign of abating as we progress through the year.”
Sales Hire Desk Controllers: “We have seen demand for Sales Hire Controllers rise over the past few months from equipment hire companies across the region. As a multi-faceted role, demanding not only excellent communication and sales skills, but also the ability to organise multiple hire contracts, candidates who have an excellent employment record are hard to come by. Consequently, professionals that have extensive experience of this role and can demonstrate their success in maximising sales are able to choose between positions.”
Accountants in Practice: “For the third time in a row, we are seeing increased demand for accountants by the region’s accounting firms. Largely due to organic growth, demand for ACA/ACCA qualified and part qualified accountants has been rising steadily throughout 2017. Firms are increasingly seeking professionals to prepare audit plans, draft corporation tax computations whilst simultaneously building and maintaining strong client relationships.”
Sales Administrators: “We have seen steady demand from many of the region’s employers for sales administrators to assist the wider sales team with not only sales but also the processing and delivery of the end product to customers. Strong customer service skills are a must for this role and the rise in demand can largely be attributed to a high turnover of staff within this segment of the employment market. Consequently, firms are increasingly dealing with replacement hirers and seeing the expertise of a recruitment company which has a network of reliable candidates seeking work.”
