British restaurant chain announces that it is launching creative "Harry and Meghan Wedding Menu" for a limited time to commemorate the May royal wedding

London (December 16th): The Tea Terrace Restaurants and Tea Rooms have announced that they have developed and will be serving a special menu from May 1st to May 21st to commemorate the Royal Wedding of Prince Harry and his fiancee Meghan Markle.

The menu, developed by husband and wife Tea Terrace owners Ehab and Rowena Shouly, has been thoughtfully put together to reflect the couple's own tastes as well as the now well known story of their romance.

"Everybody's starting to guess what the menu that will be served at the Royal Wedding will consist of. So we decided to do some work on behalf of Prince Harry and Meghan. You can call it our wedding gift to them," said Ehab Shouly, Director of The Tea Terrace.

For mains, customers of The Tea Terrace who choose to order from the Harry and Meghan Wedding Menu can choose from the following:

1. Seswaa: The national dish of Botswana

Botswana holds a special place in Harry's heart as he told the media when he disclosed that the main stone in the engagement ring that he designed himself for Meghan, is from Botswana. The country holds a special place not just in Harry's right but also Meghan, as they spent time there getting to know each other," said Rowena Shouly, Director.

Seswaa, the national dish of Botswana, consists of a meat stew served over thick polenta or pap. The stew is made by boiling meat with onion and pepper. "We have tried cooking this and it's a delicious meal. We're sure Harry and Meghan have eaten it while in Botswana," she added.

2. Turkey Meatloaf

Shouly pointed out that during a fall 2016 media interview, Meghan Markle shared the one food that reminds her of home: turkey meatloaf. It's a dish her mom made for her growing up, and she said the smell of that "trinity of flavors" of onions, carrots, and celery cooking takes her right back to childhood.

3. Roast Chicken

Rowena said: "As we know now, Harry proposed to Meghan as he was cooking a Roast Chicken dinner in their cottage. So this is perfect. Ours will be served with baked baby potatoes and roast vegetables" .

Sides:

1.  Poutines (French ies smothered in gravy and cheese curds)

"I read somewhere that Meghan loves fries. She was quoted as saying " it's its own food group for me." She also apparently became a fan of poutine — fries smothered in gravy and cheese curds — after filming Suits in Canada. She is rumoured to have said that the secret to a good batch is that the curds have to "squeak" when you bite into them.

2. Nicoise Salad: another of Meghan's favourites for lunch.

Dessert:

1. Banana cake:

Ehab Shouly pointed out that the young couple are rumoured to have requested banana wedding cake. "Banana cake was Harry's favourite childhood dessert and apparently Meghan loves dessert made with bannana too", he said.

2.  Botswanian Malva Pudding

Shouly said that for dessert they wanted to give another nod to Botswana. " We have chosen Malva Pudding which is an easy to make recipe that is found in many of the safari camps in Botswana. It is sweet, delicious and a lovely dessert.  It is called pudding, yet has a texture similar to cake when done. The cake like texture is surprising after adding all that sauce halfway through the cooking process, which makes it incredibly moist," the Directors added.

The Tea Terrace Restaurants, which are located at the House of Fraser department stores in London on Oxford Street and also London Victoria, as well as Guildford, will start serving the special menu on May 1st.

"We'd love it if Harry and Meghan drop by to one of our London branches to try the menu", Shouly said.
