as we approach the end of the financial year we expect demand to intensify

New market analysis has revealed the top roles in demand across the North West employment arena, including Fork Lift Truck Drivers and Sales Administrators. That’s according to Preston-based firm, Clayton Recruitment.

The latest analysis of the employment landscape in the North West is based on a comparison of vacancy levels across Clayton’s broad areas of expertise and highlights the ongoing skills requirements of employers in the region.

Tracy Bolan, Commercial Manager at Clayton Recruitment, comments:

Fork Lift Truck Drivers
“Demand for professionals with a Counter Balance License or Reach License to operate forklift trucks in warehouses has been steady for a number of months now and shows no signs of abating. Those with experience of accurately allocating stock, wrapping orders ahead of shipping, and loading shipments are being snapped up quickly by the region’s employers. Hourly rates for roles range from £7.50 to £8.50 per hour, with many companies offering candidates the chance to progress their careers in others areas – paid training for a Bendi License, for example.”

Sales Administrators
“We have seen steady demand from many of the region’s employers for Administrators to assist the wider sales team with not only closing deals, but also the processing and delivery of the end product. Strong customer service skills are a must for this role, as is the ability to multi-task and work well under pressure to ensure deadlines are consistently met. Those with experience can command salaries upwards of £16,000 per annum”.

Telesales Executives
“We are seeing consistent demand for Telesales professionals across the region as firms continue to need the skills of excellent communicators to not only engage customers, but also translate these conversations into sales. There are vacancies across a range of sectors for positions operating from both within call centres and smaller offices. Those who have a track record of closing deals and who have a persuasive but professional manner can command salaries up to £30,000 at the senior end of the market”.

Administrators
“We have also seen a rise in requirements for Office Administrators from a variety of companies in the region. Much of this demand stems from expansion – employers that are bolstering their administration departments to contend with increased workloads – but we are also seeing start-ups requiring staff for newly created positions. Consequently, candidates who have excellent communication skills, an ability to multitask and work both independently and as part of a team are able to choose between roles in the current environment.”

Accountants: part and fully qualified
“Demand for accounting professionals has remained strong over the past few months. We have seen requirements for both ACA/ACCA qualified and part qualified accountants from a range of practices in the region. Firms are increasingly seeking professionals to prepare audit plans, draft corporation tax computations and maintain strong client relationships. And as we approach the end of the financial year we expect demand to intensify as accounting firms prepare themselves for the additional workloads during this busy period. ”
