Happii - a new UK dating app for the post-Tinder generation is launching in 2018 and there’s not a dic* pic in sight!
us Brits will waste an estimated 96 million hours and GBP 2bn on 'bad dates' in 2018
London, UK: HAPPII, a new UK dating app, promising a highly immersive, interactive and expressive user experience, has launched a pre-registration website for its app that’s set to go live later this year (date tbc).
The new app is aimed at busy professionals that have either been through, or been turned off by, the whole swiping/hook-up experience and are now seeking more fulfilling dates and relationships with like-minded people that share similar values and outlooks on life.
A recent study has concluded that us Brits will waste an estimated 96 million hours and GBP 2bn on 'bad dates' in 2018.
HAPPII Founder and CEO, Darren Newman, says. “I’ve online dated across various platforms, as have friends and colleagues, and it’s always the same experience – identikit profile pages that all look the same, there’s zero individuality and they don’t really offer-up anything of value about those you’re matched with, so you end up wasting a lot of time, energy and money communicating and meeting the wrong people…it all becomes a bit hard work”.
HAPPII addresses these concerns by introducing comprehensive profile pages that are far more immersive and interactive, designed to reflect users’ true characters, personalities and lifestyles by enabling them to share images, videos and other content of the things that are important to them in a really unique, dynamic way – there’s a digital world map where users pin their best travel experiences, users can play their favourite music and movie trailers, showcase the books they like to read, post status updates about the things they love or hate right now or the things that make them think or laugh. Users can also upload profile videos if they wish which will give others a true sense of who the person is and that helps further validate the user’s identity.
The app matches users based on their non-negotiable preferences of sex, age, ethnicity, location, education, career, children, smoking and drinking. Users can see 5 personality traits and 5 key interests of those matches. If they still like what they see and want to know more, they can drill-down deeper via the other elements of their profile page as highlighted above. Only mutual likes can then swap messages and, to encourage proper engagement, the first message must be at least 100 characters.
Newman continues “it’s all of these elements combined that really help determine attraction (or not), even before any contact is made. In displaying more in-depth content, we’ve also given our users a lot of useful conversation starters which make life easier for everyone – there’s less pressure or need to always come up with a witty one liner”.
Safety of its users, especially female, is at its core. The app seeks to remove the scourge of the dreaded dick pic by incorporating a ‘decency filter’ which detects and removes any offending material (including too much skin as main profile photos), there’s a date diary for users to log their dates for added peace-of-mind, anti-scamming algorithms that incept dodgy messages and has Facebook login to help verify users.
The app goes live later this year. It will be free to sign-up but costs GBP 12.50 per month to access full site features. People can pre-register on their website now by entering a few details. The first 5,000 people that do will receive FREE LIFETIME MEMBERSHIP!
