Sir David John Spiegelhalter is announced as guest speaker for the Active Risk Manager Conference in London

Maidenhead, UK – Sword Active Risk, a supplier of specialist risk management software and services, has announced that Sir David John Spiegelhalter, British statistician and Winton Professor of the Public Understanding of Risk at the University of Cambridge, will be a guest speaker at the ARM Global Conference in London. Stella Rimington, former Director General of MI5 has also been confirmed as the key note speaker at the Conference, which takes place on 18 October at the Dorchester, Mayfair, London.

David Spiegelhalter is Chair of the Winton Centre for Risk and Evidence Communication and works to improve the way in which risk and statistical evidence are taught and discussed in society. He presents to, and advises, organizations on risk communication and is a regular commentator on risk issues. He presented the BBC4 documentaries ‘Tails you Win: the Science of Chance’ and the award-winning ‘Climate Change by Numbers’ and the Cambridge Science Festival talk (2013). He was elected FRS in 2005, awarded an OBE in 2006 and was knighted in 2014 for services to medical statistics.
