The final day of the UK Asia Tech Powerhouse conference comprised analysis from Natalie Black, Her Majesty’s Trade Commissioner (HMTC) for Asia Pacific, UK Department for International Trade and a UK start-up winning a coveted tour of China’s leading tech regions.

China’s leading technovation platform for IP and corporate services and Guangzhou-based organisation, WTOIP, launched their high-tech and innovation funding and support programme at the event and following an afternoon of insightful pitches, the judging panel awarded smart digital workplace platform, Fantoo, as well-deserved winners.

John Miu, Chief Operating Officer of ABP London, concluded: “We have brought together some of the biggest names in the technology industry from both the UK and Asia over the last two days to debate and discuss a range of developing themes. We have also been able to celebrate some of the future tech leaders, with the UK start-up competition, further supporting our two regions in their growing relations. With the Royal Albert Dock as a future international business district, we welcome collaboration and are proud to have hosted the event, which has resulted in a number of new trading relationships”.

Michael Lawrence, Chief Executive of the conference partners, Asia House, said: “At Asia House, we are seeing a growing interest in Asia’s tech landscape among our network. The digital revolution is the big game changer in global trade, and Asian markets are where some of the most exciting innovation is taking place. This forum is playing an important role in driving tech engagement between Asia and the UK, and we’re delighted to be working with ABP Royal Albert Dock to help businesses and investors understand the digital revolution and where the key opportunities lie.”

The final day also comprised a number of insightful talks and panels on subjects such as cyber-security, the growing use of facial recognition and The Internet of Value. Lord Willetts, Chairman of the Eight Great Technologies Investment Fund and former Minister for Universities and Science closed the day.
