APSCo’s ‘Enter The Dragon’ Charity Ball raises £36,000 for St. Christopher’s Hospice

The Association of Professional Staffing Companies (APSCo) held its 18th annual charity ball in aid of St. Christopher's Hospice on Friday 14th June 2019 at the Intercontinental Hotel in London. The event was generously sponsored by Kingsbridge Contractor Insurance.

The night raised a grand total of £36,000 for St. Christopher’s Hospice, which will have a significant impact on the support that the charity is able to offer vulnerable patients.

As always, the Charity Ball was themed, with this year’s guests transported to the ‘Far East’ for a magical night on the set of ‘Enter the Dragon’. Guests were welcomed by spectacular Kung Fu and lion dancers, before indulging in five-star Asian cuisine and entertained by the numerous sideshows, which included karaoke, a vodka luge and a ‘funny money’ casino.

Guests generously donated through pledge forms, a live auction, a silent auction, a raffle and a lucky dip. Cube 19 and Bullhorn also sponsored the annual Champagne Diamond Draw where the lucky winner, Alex Robinson from Bullhorn, scooped the prize.

Commenting on the event, APSCo CEO, Ann Swain, said:

“The Annual Charity Ball was once again a huge success, and I’d like to thank everybody who attended, and helped create a magical night to raise funds for a very important charity.”

“Every year, this fantastic event brings our members together for an evening of spectacular fun, and each time we are more pleased with the results. This year, our generous members have helped make a massive impact on St. Christopher’s Hospice, and its many patients.”

“Thank you to all of our guests, sponsors and donors for giving freely to support the charity. Last year alone, St Christopher’s provided 2,304 families with bereavement support and delivered almost 30,000 hours of personal care. Running the hospice requires £22 million each year, and raising these funds is all made possible thanks to our members on Friday being so generous. APSCo members should be incredibly proud of their ongoing contributions towards this fantastic service.”
