Datacentrepricing's latest research on the UK Data Centre market forecasts 107,000 m2 raised floor space with 192 MW by the end of 2020 excluding new projects

The UK DC market remains the largest market in Europe with 880,000 m2 of potential data centre raised floor and 1,213 MW of potential power at the end of June 2019 and continues to growth at a reduced rate though with new space being added by a handful of DC providers including Ark Data Centres, CyrusOne, e-shelter, Equinix and Virtus, with the focus on areas within the Inner London and M25 area followed by the Slough city cluster.
Datacentrepricing (DCP), a brand of Tariff Consultancy Ltd (TCL), H1 2019 edition of the UK Data Centre Tracker with some of the key trends highlighted below:
1) Average Data Centre Pricing in the UK varies significantly by each Data Centre City Cluster with the average variance by up to 40 per cent. Birmingham and Manchester city clusters having the lowest track space.
2) There continues to be new Data Centre developments in the London/Inner M25 and Slough Data Centre City Clusters with Virtus in Stockley and Slough, Cyrus One and Equinix expanding in Slough with both of these city clusters accounting for the majority of new DC space and power development.
3) The UK Data Centre market remains fragmented with a large number of Data Centre Providers. Out of the over 120 Data Centre Providers, fifty-one (51) per cent is accounted for by just seven (7) Data Centre Providers.
4) London and Inner M25 area remains the largest Data Centre City Cluster with over 270,000 M2 of Data Centre raised Floor space accounting for around 30 per cent of the total UK space.
