The Leader's Call by Grace Owen

In the 21st Century being able to lead 'yourself' is at the heart of being an effective leader

Leadership development consultant, Grace Owen experienced what she has named 'The Leader’s Call' back in 2012 when she was sitting in a taxi in Accra, Ghana.

Grace returned to London and over time realised that The Leader’s Call was an inner urge that was moving her onto the next level of her leadership experience. The feeling she had felt in Ghana was a defining moment. Years later Grace was inspired her to start writing her second book, aimed at leaders who are at similar place in their working life.

The Leader’s Call will launch on 19th September 2016 and follows on from her successful first book, The Career Itch which came out in 2009. In a similar format The Leader’s Call identifies leadership challenges and offers practical, tried and tested, straightforward advice on moving forward.

The book will be a valuable resource for leaders who are at a point of transition and feeling unsure on how to progress on their leadership journey. Using the acronym, CALL, Grace identifies four key insights that leaders need to consider to successfully move onto the next leadership level and stay there:

• Commitment: Moving to the next level
• Authenticity: Becoming Who You Are
• Learning: Developing Mastery
• Legacy: Sustaining Your Contribution

Grace Owen says: "In the 21st Century being able to lead 'yourself' is at the heart of being an effective leader. I hope that this book will help guide and encourage people to excel at their next level of leadership. Whether they are in a part-time role in their local community, a small business owner or leading on the global stage this book will be an essential tool for moving them forward in their leadership experience. The Leader’s Call is a fresh approach to leadership development"

A private launch event will be held at UNICEF HOUSE, London on Wednesday 21st September.

A free extract from The Leader’s Call (£9.99 excluding p&p) can be downloaded here and will be available to purchase from 19th September 2016 from leading booksellers.
