Research by Revector identified that mobile network operators have lost on average 20% of termination revenues to OTT hijack in the past 12 months. Some operators have lost up to 70%. Revector’s solution is the first OTT hijack service to be commercially proven, having been deployed on three continents. The service works on enterprise-grade platforms and servers and eliminates OTT hijack in a matter of days.

OTT hijack is the latest threat to telecommunications service providers’ revenues. OTT services are offering wholesale termination minutes on the open market at low cost. Calls that start as a normal telephone call are hijacked and delivered within an app environment. Not only does this cost service providers termination revenues, it also acts as a marketing tool for the OTT services. OTT hijack can impact call quality and can deny users access to standard telephony services such as voicemail and call forwarding.
