Gartenzwerg smart personal gardening device hits crowdfunding goal and prepares for launch in 2018

After raising £100,000 with Angel Investors, the London based start-up has reached its £50,000 crowdfunding goal 21 days prior to end of their campaign on the platform Seedrs: https://www.seedrs.com/gartenzwerg.

Now the team prepares for getting their product ready for launch this year.

With the vision to build self-sufficient cities and the mission to give anyone access to fresh and nutritious food, co-founders Sabrina and Andre take the first step by launching a customer focused solution. The product is a smart home garden that enables people to grow food from home effortlessly on the push of a button.

Gartenzwerg is a fully automated and beautifully designed indoor gardening system with which people can have small fruits, vegetables and herbs year-round right from home. The expectations the founders Sabrina and Andre had from Gartenzwerg were: “a small product that fits into any environment, can be used year-round, is aesthetic, easy, fully automated, affordable and most importantly focuses on the experience of growing food, not on the technology inside it.”

At the same time, the main reasons why people don’t grow food from home is down to a lack of space, time and knowledge. Which is why Gartenzwerg wants to take these hurdles away and the founders believe 2018 is the perfect time to launch an innovative indoor gardening system in the market.

Gartenzwerg is a hydroponic system, meaning it only uses water and nutrients to grow plants. No soil, no pesticides, no chemicals. It provides plants with everything that nature does.

The technology inside controls light intensity, water level, pH level, temperature and humidity, mimicking the perfect growing environment no matter the season. As an Internet of Things (IoT) product, the little helper communicates with the growers over the app to let them know if the plants require attention and what they have to do.
