“I look forward to working with the other Directors to ensure our area is fit for future generations

Swindon, Wiltshire, 22nd August 2019 – Chipside CEO Paul Moorby has joined the Board of the Swindon and Wiltshire Local Enterprise Partnership (SWLEP) to help build a long-term strategic plan for the region’s accessibility and drive future business growth.
The SWLEP was established by Central Government in July 2011 as a private sector led partnership between local businesses, Swindon Borough Council, Wiltshire Council, the military and the education sector.

The Board has 17 members, 15 from the private sector and two from the public sector. Members include representatives from Swindon Borough Council and Wiltshire Council whose administrative areas make up the geographic area of the SWLEP. Ranked 12th out of the 38 LEPs in England, by 2026 the SWLEP aims to build a reputation for innovation, entrepreneurialism and great quality of life.

“I look forward to working with the other Directors to ensure our area is fit for future generations – with the transport links, infrastructure and facilities in place to help communities thrive,” says Chipside CEO, Paul Moorby.

Chipside is a rural employer in Brinkworth and was founded by Paul in 2003. A provider of parking and traffic management IT to more than 170 UK local authorities, Chipside was awarded a Queen’s Award for Enterprise: Innovation in April 2019 for its outstanding commercial success.

Paul has worked with local government on digital transformation projects for more than 25 years and received an OBE in the New Year’s Honours 2019 for services to promoting UK Technology abroad.

“I moved to Swindon in 1994 and building Chipside in Wiltshire has proven to be one of my best business decisions. In the last two decades I have seen Swindon establish a community of pioneering business owners and develop a supportive environment that truly represents the best of Great British innovation.”
